Construction has, in the past, had a bad name in terms of impact on the environment. We believe that innovative construction and architectural progress should have a positive effect on the environment and on the lives of those who inhabit it.

We are a progressive, forward-thinking organisation committed to achieving the highest standards of performance and this includes our environmental performance. We maintain this standard through preventing pollution and minimising the impact of our operations. We believe that responsibility for the protection of the environment lies with all employees of our company.

In addition to complying with relevant environmental laws, we’ve also adopted responsible standards for other areas of our activities where no legislation exists. Through our integrated management system, we communicate environmental awareness and improvements both internally to our employees and also externally to our clients, suppliers and associated stakeholders.

Measures we take to protect the environment

  • As an accredited ISO 14001 organisation, we continually improve our business to ensure that all of our environmental impacts are reduced or removed as far as is reasonably practical and without impacting our service levels or support to our clients.
  • Where possible, we procure materials (for example, our timber boards) only from sustainable sources. Timber is the most environmentally friendly building material and a naturally renewable resource; 1 cubic metre of timber absorbs 1 tonne of CO2.
  • All our timber scaffold boards are legally and sustainably sourced from either PEFC (Programme for the endorsement of Forest Certification) or FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).
  • We also operate a wide-ranging waste management policy that incorporates all areas of the business and adhere as much as possible to the philosophy of 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.'
