Mixed scheme of light and heavy duty mastclimbers
The site sits between Enterprise Way and the River Wandle with a 21-floor landmark tower. Landscaped space will sit between the buildings for residents and public alike to enjoy along with a new public plaza.
Comprising 275 flats, Osiers Point is set to be an outstanding collection of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments. In addition to the residential aspect of the development, it contains 3,508m² of commercial space that will include an array of different facilities such as shops, financial and professional services, restaurants, offices, storage and distribution, health and leisure with basement car parking provided for 165 vehicles.
The project utilises a mixed scheme of light and heavy duty mastclimbers (MCWPs) to provide a comprehensive access package, particularly along the south elevation which is overlooking a live Network Rail Track. It is constructed directly beside the Network Rail boundary, so MCWPs were proposed to allow bespoke shaped platforms to be installed so as no overhanging elements encroach into Network Rail space. A total of 27 MCWPs were installed across the 3no blocks of this project, with nearly half of these being within Network Rails zone.
A number of heavy duty MCWPs were utilised to allow bespoke cantilevers of up to 2.50m to be installed along the terrace areas of the south elevation, meaning full access could be provided to corner areas without large amounts of scaffold being visible along the track area. A MCWP scheme was ideal for this project due to restrictions imposed by the proximity of Network Rail, and through early involvement on the project allowing ongoing discussions with our liaison, we were able to design, install and manage the required access to the health & safety standards expected by our client and Network Rail.
