Mediclinic Parkview Hospital

Opened in 2018, the hospital delivers the same international standard healthcare services and treatments that patients have come to expect from Mediclinic’s existing hospitals.

Located within the rapidly growing area of “New Dubai”, the hospital is close to a large number of new residential and commercial areas of the city, bringing expert emergency and specialist services closer to many people than ever before.

The development includes a 44-storey building with a 280 room hotel, residential apartments, a car park, a cafe, a gym and other associated facilities.

Mediclinic Parkview Hospital has a special emphasis on family medicine, obstetric and gynaecology and paediatrics, offering a full complement of female consultant obstetricians. The hospital also offers same-day appointments for paediatric outpatients and 24/7 paediatric specialist availability in the Emergency department.

Mediclinic Middle East is part of Mediclinic International, a private hospital group with three operating platforms in South Africa and Namibia, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates, and a 29.9% shareholding in Spire Healthcare, a UK-based healthcare group with 38 hospitals.

We provided the scaffold package for Mediclinic in New Dubai that included the installation of an access scaffold for cladding on the roof of the building.

This was an extremely high-risk project to undertake due to the height of the build and the challenging weather conditions which at times found temperatures surging to unsafe levels. Health & Safety concerns were therefore elevated even higher than usual on this project for us, as we carried out risk assessments and meticulously planned to ensure that all workers were kept safe and not working in unhealthy conditions.

The works provided required an extensive amount of design work, as our engineers carefully designed the correct counterweight to support a cantilever scaffold platform that was extended outside of the roof of the building.
