170 MW district cooling plant with the chilling capacity of 48,000 TR

We worked on a cooling plant in the area of Creek Harbour in Dubai, UAE.

The project involved the construction of a 170 MW district cooling plant with the chilling capacity of 48,000 TR. The plant comprised a basement level, ground floor, an additional floor and a plant room.

It also has six sets of chiller modules with the total capacity of 38,400 TR.

The cooling plant was built to help reduce heat waste in the area, reflecting Dubai's focus on long-term environmental sustainability.

Dubai Creek Harbour claims to be the “next frontier in contemporary life, work and play”. Home to Ras Al Khor Wildlife sanctuary, which is among the few protected urban areas in the world and home to a wealth of wildlife, providing an extraordinary setting for residents. The cooling plant is a key component of the vision for cleanliness and sustainability, not only in Creek Harbour, but for all of Dubai.

Installation

We provided the mast climber package to the project that included both single and twin mast configuration.

We worked closely with the client at tender stage to decide on mast climbers (MCWP's) for the access works on the project. MCWP's were chosen as the best option for this project due to their speed of work and as the client wanted to lower project costings.

The package was used to install a long aluminium sheet around the façade of the building. Due to the installation required, MCWP's were both safer and faster.

Our works on the façade were required to adhere to Dubai Creek Harbour’s high standards of architecture and visual appearance.
