Manor Road is a £100 million 8,000 sq. ft mixed-use development in Canning Town, London which will see 355 apartments built across 33m, 43m, and 108m buildings, one of the tallest developments in the borough of Newham.

Installation

Brogan provided a complete Scaffolding and powered access package at Manor Road, a project that utilised efficient offsite solutions such as unitised cladding, bathroom pods and service risers.

Brogans’ largest ‘Colossus’ Twin mast Passenger/Goods 5m x3m Hoist was installed, alongside another twin goods/passenger Hoist, for the fit-out of the tallest 33-storey building with a landing bridge installed on an awkward corner angle.

On the 10 and 13-storey blocks twin goods/passenger Hoists were combined with over 7,000m2 full independent Scaffolding, over a kilometre of Protection Fans for the high trafficked areas and positioning of Scaffolding around a 60m-high Electricity pylon, which also required all construction equipment to be earthed on site.

Due to the close proximity of a live rail line, Brogan Group coordinated with Network Rail, submitting all designs and calculations through for approval.

The scale of the site and its location in a highly congested part of East London posed several logistical challenges at the planning stage and Brogan Group coordinated with the Contractor on sequencing for the cladding installation.

Soffit Hoist ties were supplied early to be removed and reinstalled across the three buildings to allow unitised terracotta cladding panels and curtain wall cladding to be installed on the three buildings.
