36 floors, and stands at 160 metres tall

The ‘Walkie-Talkie’ Tower at 20 Fenchurch Street includes construction of a viewing deck, and sky gardens, making it London’s highest park. The building also houses office and retail space, spread out over 36 floors, and stands at 160 meters tall. The project was a complex and unique challenge for Brogan Group providing a specialist design for what is claimed as ‘the building with more up top’.

Installation

The scaffolding works started from the South side of the building overlooking the Thames, and progressed northward. Lateral support towers were installed to both East and West flanks of the 35th floor to support the steel find.

The specialist roof Fin structure required extensive support scaffold structures to be built overlooking the Thames some 150m above the ground level.

Brogan have a very productive approach to working safely on a high rise building in the city of London with a slab edge that is at the limit of the site boundary at a very high level.
