New rail route to cater for Expo 2020 Dubai
We are providing the access for work at Discovery Gardens Metro Station allowing for the construction of Dubai’s newest metro line, Route 2020.
As its name suggests, it is being constructed to cater for Expo 2020 Dubai, which is predicted to attract around 25 million tourists to the region over a 6-month period.
The UAE was elected as host of the Expo 2020 in 2013. It is a universal exposition or 'world's fair', which, according to the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), may occur every five years, and may last up to six months. The themes of World Expos must address a universal challenge facing humanity. Dubai Expo 2020 focuses on 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future', with subthemes of Sustainability, Mobility and Opportunity. Installation
We are providing access platforms for the construction of route 2020 which will extend the city’s metro system to conveniently reach the 438-hectare Expo site in the Dubai South district, near the Al Maktoum International Airport. Beyond Expo 2020, the route is expected to serve around 270,000 commuters travelling between commercial and residential areas in the city.
Our scaffold package includes a mix of hanging and regular scaffold. We have also provided staircases, platforms, bridges, loading platforms and birdcages.
