Popular hotel in the bustling Temple Bar

The Morgan Hotel is a four-star hotel in the famously popular tourist area of Temple Bar in Dublin that underwent a €15 million redesign. The refurbishment on the hotel that opened in 2001 adds 39 bedrooms to the development, making a total of 168 and an entirely new fifth floor.

Each room within the hotel comes fully equipped with things you would expect such as free WI-FI and aircon. It then exceeds your expectations with ground-breaking SuitePad technology. Armed with the Suitepad, guests are able to order room service, a drink from the bar, laundry service and will find help to they might have during their stay.

Outside the privacy of a guests room, they will have many public spaces available. This includes three new dining restaurants that serve Irish produce, seafood, steak and signature dishes to the hotel. There is a lounge that provides coffee, tea and pastries and of course, no hotel is complete without a bar.

Our scope of work involved the installation of cantilevered scaffold elevations along Fleet Street and Aston Place which minimised the amount of scaffolding based off the ground at street level.

Our in-house design team, with Dublin City Council, created plans to work around the potential civil disruptions of working in a crowded pedestrian area. Considering the building's busy location, it was vital to ensure the safety of passers-by and visitors to the hotel.

Using a number of dolly towers and beams, we were able to hold up the scaffold that was punched from unit towers.

Our design engineers specifically designed this scaffold package so our materials would not be required to reach the floor. This provided a means of easier access to the project and to protect the general public in the busy Temple Bar area.
