We are currently recruiting Financial Controller ACCA, ACA, CIMA fully qualified to join busy accounts team at our Head Office in Welwyn Garden City.
Job Role:
- Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director and board of directors
- Support and work with the GFD to develop the finance function
- Analysis of commercial operations /regions and sectors
- Opportunity to travel overseas occasionally
- Consolidating group accounts/commercial data
- Good opportunity for oversight and exposure to all departments within the finance role
- Progression opportunities with Groups rapid expansion
- Exposure to external and international auditors/banks including UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia and Ireland
Duties:
- Assist in preparation of consolidated year-end statutory accounts and working with Auditors to produce statutory annual returns
- Overseeing/preparing the monthly management accounts, KPIs and bank packs
- Analysing business performance, preparing monthly sales/profit forecasts and analysing variances
- Provide commercial analysis including cost base, contract, and margin analysis
- Cashflow forecasting and management for Directors
- Ensuring balance sheet reviews are completed on time
- Oversee fabrication costs & products register
- Oversee the fixed asset register maintenance
- CAPEX tracking and financing
- Oversee monthly prepayments and accruals
- Review balance sheet accounts
- Review bank/revenue reconciliations
- Oversee inter-company transactions reconciliations
- Oversee VAT preparation ready for submissions
- Cover payroll processing for weekly employees if/when required
- Oversee sales ledger and purchase ledger processing
- Cash book entries
- Process P11D and filings
- Submission of Companies House and HMRC filings
- Adhoc project work and support to the FD
- Full responsibility for day to day and month end reporting
Whilst the main role involves the above duties the preferred candidate will need to be flexible and willing to get involved at all levels within the accounts team, such as cover periods of leave or to meet deadlines.
Skills Required:
- Fully qualified
- Candidates must have excellent Excel skills/analytical skills
- Confident and able to work on own initiative
- Must have good attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Be ambitious and driven
- Accounting experience in construction
- Coins software knowledge preferable
