Brogan Group’s Tall Building Charity Climbing Challenge

Brogan Group employees have set themselves the challenge of raising money for the Lighthouse Club, by climbing 8 buildings in 8 weeks.

The Brogan initiative has an objective to raise £5000 over the two month period in aid of the Lighthouse Club, which is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.

The mission which we have chosen to accept is…..

• ‘Climb’ 8 buildings in 8 weeks in June to July
• Recording and walking/running a set distance each week
• This target increases each week according to the size of the buildings. We are not actually climbing these buildings

Every week starting from the 7^th June the opted in team across the UK and Irish divisions will be given a new Tall building, that Brogan have worked on, to virtually climb.

For example if the building is 51m high we are converting this into a target of 5.1km.

It is also a health & wellbeing initiative for our employees, encouraging increased physical activity as we come out of the lockdown.

We have created a Strava Group, the free activity tracking app, for participants to record our results and create the competitiveness needed to see which teams come out on top, On site or office, depot or country?

What Lighthouse Club means to Brogan Group

Brogan Group is a Company supporter of The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity which is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.

They receive no public funding and rely on the generosity of those within in the industry to help us continue their vital work.

Brogan Group have trained a number of their employees up as Mental Health ‘Firstaiders’ and are looking to continue support in this area with the support of groups including the Lighthouse Club.
