Experienced Depot Manager with experience in construction plant hire.

  • Proven warehouse management experience
  • PC literate - MS Office, Email, Internet, MS Excel, Syrinx or other hire software system
  • Full Driving License
  • Telehandler license desirable
  • Leadership skills and ability manage staff
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a clear telephone manner
  • Ability to work under pressure to set deadlines and prioritise tasks

Main Responsibilities

  • Management of materials in and out of depot
  • Distribution of plant to sites and from sites
  • Allocation of resource to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Management and motivation of a team of warehouse operatives
  • Arranging delivery and collection of orders
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of the depot’s equipment including basic knowledge of accessory, safety and test & run requirements
  • Keeping the depot, and in particular the hire desk area, tidy at all times
  • Operate and maintain daily diary recording all plant movements
  • Responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and stock
  • Deal with planning, coordinating, administration and general management issues, which include the day-to-day supervision of staff and overseeing work organised by team leaders
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and transport companies
  • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipts and invoices
  • Keeping stock control systems up to date and making sure inventories are accurate;
  • Planning future capacity requirements;
  • Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
  • Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilisation
  • Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping requirements
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
  • Inventory forecasts and traffic management
  • A commitment to achieving the highest standards at all times
