Finchley Memorial Hospital

The modernisation of Finchley Memorial Hospital in the suburbs of North London, is worth £26.2 million

The redevelopment of the healthcare facility will be delivered in two-phases. The initial phase of works is the construction of the new hospital building next to the existing hospital site. The demolition of the existing building will take place under the second phase.

The building’s environmental credentials are expected to achieve a rating of ‘Excellent’ under BREEAM*

Arranged over three storeys, the hospital will contain state-of-the-art primary and intermediate care, occupational therapy, improved outpatients provision and diagnostics facilities. Other works include a new café, retail units, and new public and private open spaces.

The new hospital building is expected to be unveiled in July 2012.

*BREEAM is the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building's environmental performance.
