Fenchurch Street, London

Work at Fenchurch Street comprised of building a new Marks & Spencers Store with the upper floors consisting of office units.

Working in conjunction with the main contractor HBG Construction Ltd we provided the access throughout the site. This included erecting perimeter independent scaffold founded from steel bridged gantries above the foot path for stone and window work.

Additionally two BIG-E support scaffolds were erected up to roof level for the loading and unloading of materials into the building for all floor levels, and separate free-standing scaffold was also erected within the atrium for glazing works.

Arup have carried out the structural and geotechnical design for the store and the building replaces the former headquarters of Barclays Bank, which was also designed by Arup in the 1960’s.
