Strong performance from Brogan sponsored Rak Ropairí GAA team in Bahrain

Brogan Sponsored Rak Ropairí Gaelic Football Team travelled to Bahrain to play in the second league fixtures of the year. The Dubai based club was strongly represented with four teams entered in the tournament - one social and one junior for each of the men’s and women’s units.

The club’s secretary, Kylie Mansur, reports that the social teams gained a lot of experience and had a great time securing a win each. The social men’s team lost in the plate final but not by much.

Both of the club’s junior teams placed higher than they did in the Dubai tournament earlier this season. However, they reported that they were disappointed with their end result.  The ladies reached the cup semi-final but lost by a point. Still, things are looking positive for the potential of this team as they are clearly advancing, and feel that this was their best game of the tournament.

The men won two games and lost one in their pool play but had a convincing win in the semi-finals to face the Jumeriah Gaels in the Final, the club reported: “The men played well but came up short in the end”.

The club’s teams are still training as they lead up to their Winter break and are happy to have found a full-sized pitch to train on once per week. Ms Mansur told us that the club is eager to make the second half of the season its best yet and all of us here at Brogan Group are very proud to be sponsoring and supporting them on this journey.
