Following a review into Safety Guidance 4 (SG4) ‘Preventing Falls in Scaffolding and Falsework', the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) have revised the regulations to create SG4:10, which will be launched this month.

Changes include the removal of the practice of the ‘unprotected traversing element’ from the tunnelling principle. Overall the new guidance, ‘Preventing Falls in Scaffolding’, will serve to ensure scaffolders and their employers work safer and comply with the law.
