We have recently secured the access packages for the construction of three schools under the Abu Dhabi Education Council’s Future School Programme.

The new schools; Al Khazna, Al Khatem, and Al Bateen located in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi West respectively, will each have the capacity to cater for between 1225 and 1500 students.

Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2011, the new eco-friendly schools have been designed to incorporate sustainable features such as photovoltaic panels for solar energy, solar panels for hot water, energy efficient air-conditioning systems and water conservation devices.

Amenities will include communal areas and a vertical garden; and learning resources will consist of state-of-the-art ICT rooms, laboratories, music and art rooms, and libraries. The schools will also contain 500-seat auditoriums and swimming pools.

Construction by Sammon Group is underway at all three sites, with the erection of scaffolding, pictured above at Al-Khazna School, now in progress.
