March has seen a number of our scaffolders, successfully completing Scaffolding Part 2 training including Daniel Shanley, Austumas Pabirzis and Fatimir Cobaj. The course covers the safe erection and alteration of a range of scaffolding structures, topics covered include
•    Safe methods of erecting scaffolding
•    Regulations governing safe erection, inspection and dismantling
•    Determining material requirements
•    Laying out material
•    Interpreting drawings
•    Overcoming obstacles
•    Constructing scaffolds to statutory regulations

In addition to this Fatimir Cobaj has also successfully completed in-house manual handling training which is designed and delivered by our Health & Safety Advisor. The course is continuous throughout the year with refresher courses given to staff every two years.

The aim of the training is to ensure that all scaffold staff can lift safely and are capable of recognising manual handling risks. As well as making sure they understand the reasons for doing manual handling tasks with the least risk.

Our continuous training throughout the year is part of our long term commitment to improving and developing the skills of our scaffolders by investing in skills and safety training.
