Brogan Group take part in Construction Safety Week

Construction Safety Week is an initiative of the Construction Safety Partnership Advisory Committee (CSPAC). This is a grouping of all the main stakeholders in the construction sector in Ireland – Employers, Unions, State Bodies (in conjunction with the Health & Safety Authority) and professional bodies.

It is an opportunity to reflect on aspects of safety, health and overall wellbeing and to promote its importance throughout the workforce. It is recommended to review past activities and to learn from successes, failures and near misses. By sharing experiences, we may eliminate avoidable accidents, enhance worker morale and increase productivity.

Brogan are getting involved in Safety Week by carrying out Work at Height training sessions on a number of our Ireland projects throughout the week (20th-22nd). The courses will be carried out by our SHEQ Advisor and will be based on Work at Height, the use and inspection of fall protection equipment and rescue from height with our scaffold, hoist and mast climber operatives and Supervisors.

Owing to Covid-19 restrictions, the training will be carried out off-site while maintaining 2m social distancing to minimise the risk of cross-transmission. While the danger posed by Covid-19 is always present, we must not lose sight of the dangers posed by the day to day operations of a construction site and the planning needed to maintain safety.
