We sponsored DrakonSparrows to buy a new kit in time for their first International Race at Tbilisi, Georgia on 4th May 2019. A spokesperson for the team said of the sponsorship, “Brogan Group played an important role in uniting these paddlers. The moment they received their uniforms, they were all excited to wear it with pride. It brought big smiles to everyone”.
The team made it to the finals in all categories and even won a Silver Awards for the 200m woman’s category.
Dragon boat racing is a canoe sport and began as a modern international sport in Hong Kong in 1976. A team consists of 20 paddlers, a Cox who steers the boat from the rear and a drummer who sits at the front. The paddlers work in unison to move the boat forward with the aim to reach the finish line in the fastest time. A race usually consists of between four and six boats.
