The Abford House development continues at a pace. We have currently removed the Xena platform which had worked its way up to the sixth floor. A huge protection walkway has also been erected to replace a public walkway which has been temporarily closed on the North elevation.
The remaining access to the elevations has begun with independent scaffold being erected on the fifth floor and will continue with independent scaffolds and handrails being erected on the higher floors for steelworkers.
Upon completion of the development, the forecourt of Victoria will be animated by this nine-story building that will be topped off by a dramatic curving roof at the North end, nicknamed "The Bonnet". The £30 million building adjoins the Apollo Theatre and will comprise shops at street and lower ground levels plus offices above.
