A reflection on the importance of The Lighthouse Charity on World Mental Health Day

Picture a typical construction worker and an image that might jump to mind is a stereotypical, no nonsense kind of guy that takes everything in their stride. 

But we know that’s not true. Two construction workers take their own life every single working day and a fifth of all work-related illness is due to stress, anxiety or depression.   

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity are the only charity that provides financial and emotional support to the construction community and their families. They offer a 24/7 free helpline to everyone in the construction industry and their families and this support is complemented with a free Construction Industry Helpline App. The helpline is the first point of contact to access a range of free and confidential support services including, emergency financial aid and advice on mental health and wellbeing.

They are seeing a huge increase in demand for their charitable services and they rely on the generosity of those within the industry to ‘help their own’. That’s why Brogan Group have stepped up to become proud supporters of the Charity.
