We use a range of innovative fall-safety solutions including Combisafe systems and products to enhance and ensure a safer working environment for personnel on site and the general public.
Brogan Group stock and supply Combisafe Safety Net Fan solutions where the working conditions require additional safety measures.
There are two Safety Net Fans available, the first is designed to catch falling objects and debris and the second is designed to arrest falling persons and objects.
Safety Net Fan
Designed as a fall-arrest and protection net, this solution allows for falls from a maximum of 6m. The Safety Net Fan consists of two steel brackets which allow a projection range of 3m from the building. Its unique design enables the fan to be folded in towards the building’s façade allowing easy access for cranes, hoists, loading bays etc.
The Maxi Fan has been designed to extend the catching width of the standard fan and to increase the level of containment provided. The additional width and improved containment of the Maxi Fan adds to operational confidence on site, particularly on high rise projects, and tight locations, with close public access in city centres. This solution is particularly beneficial in concrete construction where the formwork will cantilever beyond the building line, reducing the effective catching width of the standard fan.
The turned up section of the Maxi Fan also serves to increase the level of containment on the protected slab, particularly of lighter objects that might fall into the net. Windblown debris from the building is also caught in the raised section and deflected onto the main body of the net.
The component parts of the Standard and Maxi Fan are readily interchangeable, allowing for flexibility in installation. Safety Net Fans are available in two standard lengths, 4m & 6m, with a projection of 3m from the building. All fall-arrest nets are tested and approved in accordance with EN 1263 Standard.
The Safety Net Fan is assembled on the ground and lifted into place by crane. The installation is done using different accessories to suit the building application. When the Safety Net Fans are lifted into place, they are joined together either by lacing or by overlap.
The length of the overlap differs between fall-arrest nets and protection nets. The overlap on protection nets only has to be large enough to prevent debris and other objects from falling between the Safety Net Fans.
