The Madison, London

Brogan Group are playing a prominent role in the landmark Madison Tower Project in Canary Wharf, London. The new build will have 53 storeys, 181 metres high, providing 423 residential apartments in the centre of the capital. Our provision for this project includes a passenger / goods hoist and scaffolding. However, most notably, we are providing a brand new combined access solution: The Common User Tower and Colossus Hoist.

Our addition of design, hire and installation of Common User Towers (CUT) to its range of services is a response to the growing number of high-rise projects upcoming in London. Employing CUT affords maximum capacity for the transport of materials and personnel to optimum working heights with minimum interference. We are one of just a few access contractors to provide design, hire and installation of CUT in London.

Brogan Group are also introducing the Colossus Hoist during the Madison Project. This is the largest Hoist in the market. With a length of 5 metres, a width of 3.1 metres and a height of 3.1 metres, it can safely carry 40 passengers or 4000kg up to 350m high at a lifting speed of 40 metres per minute.

Brogan are using Common Towers and Colossus to provide access to The Madison Tower project due to unique challenges, such as the height of the Pods which need to be placed in to the building via Colossus. The CUT was used in combination with the Colossus to distribute the large pods 181m high. Using common towers will ensure three access points at different levels at any time (Colossus Hoist, Passenger/Goods Hoist and Staircase). This will ensure that once pods are fitted, this can continue above, whilst façade is installed on completed floors below.

On completion, The Madison will represent, not only a London landmark, but a landmark project for Brogan Group, being the first combined use of common towers and Colossus hoists. This demonstrates our commitment to innovation and using the latest access technology to enable clients to build bigger and better.
