Brogan Group's remit on this project includes full perimeter access scaffold, hoist run offs and a full height advanced netted frame guard for the erection of the scaffold on the Buckingham Gate elevation for public safety. We are also providing the hoist package for the complex redevelopment.

Our site team on 1 Palace Street were awarded the annual Safety Award two years running. Each year the Client Site Management team vote for who they think deserves this award based on ‘dedication, collaborative attitude, hard work towards maintaining H&S standards, willingness to continuously improve and the all-round great team on the project’ in 2020, Brogan Group team received over 60% of the votes!

Jon Cassidy, Project Director for Balfour Beatty said: ‘Tomas and his team at 1 Palace St have deservedly collected the annual safety award for the second year running, with over 60% of the Balfour Beatty Site Management Team voting in their favour. Brogan Group have performed high risk activities on the project with diligence and rigour, with a superb “can do” attitude which leaves the Site Management Team safe knowing works will be done right first time, every time. Congratulations to Tomas and the Team for all their hard work on the project’.

The Brogan pre-construction team worked in collaboration with Balfour Beatty from the outset (pre-tender phase) assisting with the access strategy, value engineering options and developing innovative solutions to overcome some of the access challenges the project team were faced with.

The façade of the building on Buckingham Gate which dates back to 1861 will be retained and was originally built as The Palace Hotel, a landmark hotel of the Victorian period that hosted distinguished guests of Queen Victoria. Once complete, the project will be the only residential building to directly overlook the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
