Central Plaza

Dublin’s Central Bank building is being regenerated into an iconic mixed-use scheme known as Central Plaza.

The development will add 100,000 sq ft of office space for up to 1300 professionals, as well as multiple retail and hospitality units on the ground and basement floor. It will be a landmark, two-storey, rooftop destination with a 5-star restaurant and social space accompanied by 360 views of the city.

We provided the scaffold package to the redevelopment of Central Plaza on two elevations of the development. The project involved many challenges including tight restraints of a 0.28 hectare site and the high level of pedestrian traffic surrounding the development – this led us to using dolly towers through lightwell openings. This was required from us as the low-level roof could not take the loads imposed and therefore had to be brought down to the ground level.

Additionally, we put beams along the entire length of the elevation and punched the remaining scaffold upwards off of the beams.

On the second elevation we built a large gantry to enable pedestrian access on the pathways around the development. We then erected a scaffold fan above a bike store to protect pedestrians. We worked closely with the contractor to keep costs down with the scaffold fan as opposed to Combi Safe as we weren’t up high enough to require it (8m).

The scaffold was then punched from the gantry to full height of the project.
