Work at Dublin Airport is nearing to closing stages, the project comprised of an extension to Terminal 1, to improve passengers journey to Piers A and D by adding more circulation space, new airside retail and catering outlets, and a reconfigured check-in area at the Northern end of the terminal.

Our work for main contractor McNamara comprised of erecting external independent scaffold and loading bays for cladding and glazing works with a separate access scaffold bridge and staircases erected across the main luggage reclaim entrance.

Internal works included erecting leading edge handrails, lift shaft scaffolds and blockwork scaffolds with a large birdcage scaffold above escalations and voids.

The 7,500m² extension is located at the North-Western corner of Terminal 1 and has expanded the existing terminal which consists of arrivals and departures facilities on two levels, with ancillary support accommodation, including additional check-in desks, retail, a restaurant and bar on the mezzanine level, catering, storage, service and plant utilities.

The new Terminal 1 extension has been designed to get rid of bottlenecks at the airport and to integrate the terminal with piers A and D to improve passenger experience.
