10th October 2025 is World Mental Health Day. The theme this year is Overwhelm: when global events and relentless bad news become too much. Focusing on the mental health impact of repeated exposure to news coverage of crises and conflicts.

With constant exposure to global crises — from pandemics and climate change to social injustice, conflict, and political unrest — it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and emotionally drained. This continual stream of bad news can impact our mental health, leaving us anxious, helpless, or fearful. However, by actively looking after our mental wellbeing, we can better manage these feelings and maintain a healthier mindset.

Over the past two weeks, Brogan Group has delivered toolbox talks to site teams across the UK and Ireland, focusing on preventing and managing overwhelm. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, trained mental health first aiders are available 24/7 to offer support, guidance, and advice to all staff.

For the past seven consecutive years, Brogan Group has maintained an ongoing commitment to the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, which provides 24/7 support across the UK and Ireland.
