Brogan Group are providing hoist and mast climber services for a new client on a large southwest Dublin mixed-use development.
An ambitious mix of residential, retail and office space are being built in 9 blocks, the third phase of a larger development with a leading Irish housebuilder which will create over 400 new homes set amidst extensive landscaped areas and a nearby LUAS tram/light rail station.
The client looked to Brogan’s Powered Access solutions on the taller units, that range from 6 to 15 storeys, as a more efficient solution to full Scaffolding works. Brogan 2T Goods Hoists and Twin Mast Climbers were selected for the fit-out and façade works respectively.
The mid-rise and tall buildings in the development master plan are an implementation of the Irish National Planning Framework which requires “increased density, scale and height of development in our town and city cores.”
These taller units help overcome the low-density sprawl in the Dublin suburbs, loss of green land, and increased commuting distances that raise carbon emissions. In Dublin city centre, plans are also underway to address building height limits in the Draft Dublin Development Plan 2022-2028.
