Brogan Group Erect Rolling Temporary Roof Structure

Kings Court, Covent Garden is set to transform outdated office space into 50 new residential apartments (including affordable homes), 8 new retail units, and 2 new high quality al fresco restaurants. It is also creating a new, central public courtyard, with passages that will connect to the surrounding streets, providing a much needed new route within the district.

Brogan Group has erected a pavement gantry to support the access scaffold to the façade, and a Ubix Roof whilst still providing safe access for the public, as the retail spaces remain open on the busy street central London Street.

The gantry and access incorporated a support frame for the client’s Tromp L’Oel to maintain the buildings aesthetic during construction works.  The scaffold to the rear of the King Street building was erected from the newly excavated basement level capping beam and bridged the adjoining party wall locations to provided support to the rear of duo-pitch Layer roof above.

The Ubix roof was designed to run on a track system to enable the roof to be covered in its entirety whilst still allowing sections to be opened up to allow removal of the existing roof and installation of the new penthouse steelwork sections and raised profile roof areas.

The scheme is due to be completed by Quarter3 2017.
