We have recently revised our system for revised our system for reviewing risk assessments and method statement to ensure that all risk assessments are kept site-specific and deal with any changes in on-site conditions.

Process in summary:

Method statement and risk assessments to be submitted by H&S department prior to any work commencing.

Point of Work Assessments (POWA) have been introduced to cover any hazards not previously envisaged or following changes in on-site circumstances. 

Supervisors must complete these pocket-sized cards when work deviates from the original method statement and risk assessment or where new hazards have emerged.

POWA's will be agreed with client and then communicated with operatives.
