This week is Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK, with this year’s focus on Anxiety.

Anxiety is a normal emotion in us all, but sometimes it can get out of control and become a mental health problem.

In 2021 27% of all ill health in construction was attributed to anxiety alongside stress and depression according to a recent HSE report.

Anxiety can affect us physically and mentally, you might notice your heart rate increasing, headaches, loss of appetite, breathlessness, or chest pain.

Brogan Group put the health and well-being of our employees first which is why we have a team of ‘Mental Health First Aiders’ in place for our staff, who listen and provide advice and support.

These services are supplemented by the Lighthouse Charity, which has a 24-hour helpline service that provides free support for all construction workers and their families.
