We have secured the hoist package for the 717-home Chalcot Estate in Camden, North West London. Our hoist package comprises 16 20/32 goods and passenger cages in both single and twin configuration that will be servicing five towers, originally built in the 1960s, reaching a maximum height of 64m high.
This project is going to provide us with many challenges as the building will remain occupied throughout our works. Our in-house engineers will be designing bespoke ties due to the limited access and to prevent damage to the façade as it is sympathetic to the fabric of the building.
Due to the height of the buildings and there not being a tower crane onsite, Brogan Group will be installing the hoist via mechanical plant and a bespoke trolley system that will be fabricated in our yard and delivered via lorry mounted crane.
As part of London’s remediation works, Chalcot Estate was tested and deemed eligible for the replacement of its cladding. In addition to the cladding replacement, residents will also see their windows and curtain walls replaced. The goods and passenger machines will assist with the remediation works which are set for completion in the Summer of 2021.
