Brogan Group delivered practical work experience for Fulham Students on Construction Hoists, part of a wider initiative to get more students into the Construction industry.
The demonstrations, organised by Kier Places, gave students from the Fulham Cross Academy and Fulham Boys School an insight into the many trades and activities on Construction sites, including the Powered Access provision from Brogan Group.
Brogan Group’s Operations Director, Jim Casey, led the demonstration for the 15–16-year-old students, showing how Hoists work and outlining the various job roles that enable Hoists to operate, from design to installation.
Following a safety briefing the students got the opportunity to travel 6 storeys up the 24-storey building in a Brogan Hoist, with the session concluding with a debrief Q & A.
Sarah Hughes, the Social Value Coordinator at Kier Places thanked Jim Casey for the practical demonstration and was told by several of the students that the hoist demonstration was their favourite practical.
The work experience is part of a drive by Kier Places to get more young people interested in a rewarding construction career, working with its supplier base, including Brogan Group, and providing true social value back to the community where it runs its projects.
