The new glass-clad office development in the City of London, Cannon Place, has presented challenges for the erection of cantilevered scaffolding required to enable welding works to the roof.
Our in-house design team have successfully overcome these difficulties to produce a solution that will be applied in the coming days. Six cantilever scaffolds, with a suspended lift, will be installed at a height of 40m, which will allow welding to the steelwork nodes on the roof of the building.
Previous works for the main contractor have included perimeter scaffold for glazing works, and the erection of an access tower, pictured below, to enable cladding works between the new structure and adjoining building.
Cannon Place, located on the Cannon Street frontage, will contain 389,000 ft² of office and retail space when completed in 2011.
