College House, Dublin

We are providing the scaffold package for the demolition of College House in Dublin, Ireland. Our scaffold is seeing the protection of the public as they pass by the development and it is also providing access for the works on the project.

The new development will be an environmentally sustainable ‘Grade A’ office building that obtains an entertainment facility to replace the Screen Cinema.

Upon completion, the development will be a ten-storey building inclusive of a 500-seater venue, a café, shops and a restaurant on the ground floor. Situated just north of Trinity College, it is in the perfect location to be a bustling hub for both locals and tourists alike.

The contractor’s website states the following of the development:

The office accommodation above includes the maximum use of natural lighting to the perimeter edge in a column-free floor plate increasing flexibility and adaptability in use. The facade design has strong vertical proportions which are typical of the contextual buildings and will convey a sense of robustness and solidity. The palette of materials chosen are simple and elegant and appropriate to the buildings’ civic language and particular site conditions. The blue black, highly reflective terracotta tile create a suitably contrasting backdrop to the largely grey granite context of Trinity College and Pearse Street Garda Station. The upper levels are a white reconstituted stone, which recedes against black tile, becoming a calmer foil to the bold expression of the terracotta.

We began our works on the development last month and are due for completion in May this year.
