Brogan Group have been appointed Hoist and Scaffolding contractors on the new St James’s Square Office building in London.

The nearly 100,000 square feet of Category A office space replaces an older building used as a headquarters by US General Eisenhower in the Second World War and the new design seeks to honour this legacy with the red brick reused alongside the dismantled Portland Stones for the new period-style façade.

Brogan external Passenger/Goods Hoists are being installed to help construct the 7-storey façade facing St James’s Square, as well as provide access to the interior build. Here the main Contractor is also installing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services.

The site is L-shaped, with entrances on two separate streets and Brogan Scaffolding will be erected around the longer Charles II Street 8 storey façade. The upper floors will be set further back from the street than before, yielding rooftop space.  Excavation will provide a deeper, two-level basement where several Brogan Beam Hoists provide transportation between the ground floor and basement mezzanine levels.
