March 8th marks International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
At Brogan Group we would like to thank the contribution of the women in our team, an integral part of the continuing success of the Group across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East.
As part of a reflection of the day we have examined statistics on the Construction industry and how Brogan Group measures in comparison.
The number of women in construction is just over 17% according to 2022 ONS figures in the UK and 9% in Ireland according to the CSO Labour Force Survey. While this percentage has increased by three percentage points over the last 5 years in the UK, the efforts are continuous.
Across the Scaffolding industry, the percentage of women Scaffolders is low, but as a whole business, Brogan Group are making strides in increasing the percentage of women within the business.
Women now make up 50% of support staff combined across Brogan Group and this has increased substantially over the last year.
