Brogan Group is supporting Stress Awareness Month this April, reinforcing the importance of managing workplace pressure and its impact on safety, performance, and wellbeing.
The annual campaign, created by The Stress Management Society in 1992, promotes practical ways to reduce stress and improve mental wellbeing. This year’s theme encourages individuals and organisations to take proactive steps to reduce stress in the workplace.
Stress is a common challenge in the construction industry, with pressure often building in ways that are not always visible but that can have real impacts on decision-making, behaviour, and ultimately safety. When urgency becomes the norm rather than the exception, it can lead to rushed work, reduced quality, and increased risk.
Unmanaged pressure does not stay hidden – it can present itself through mistakes, near misses, and health impacts.
Toolbox Talks have been delivered across all sites in the UK and Ireland, highlighting key controls, the consequences of stress, and practical ways to stop and reset, to manage pressure effectively.
In addition, all Brogan Group employees have access to trained mental health first aiders who are on hand to offer support and advice. Brogan Group is also a longstanding member of The Lighthouse Charity, which provides 24/7 support for construction workers and their families.
