This week, 9th – 15th June, marks International Men’s Health Week, an annual campaign encouraging men of all ages to prioritise their health, seek preventive care, and openly discuss important health issues.

At Brogan Group, raising awareness around health and welfare is a key priority. In support of this important week, toolbox talks have been delivered across all our UK and Irish sites, helping to highlight men's physical and mental health.

Statistics shared by Mates in Mind and the BUPA Wellbeing Index emphasise the importance of initiatives like this:

  • 37% of UK men admit to actively hiding their mental health issues from their partners.
  • 50% have struggled with mental health difficulties, yet fewer than half have sought medical advice.
  • 30% of men said they didn’t know where to turn for advice or support.

Brogan Group has trained Mental Health First Aiders available to support all our staff across offices and sites in both the UK and Ireland alongside working closely with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, which offers 24/7 support to construction workers and their families.
