Internationally-renowned architects, Alison and Peter Smithsons designed the Economist Plaza for its completion in 1964. As part of its latest remodelling, we are delighted to have secured the mast climber package for replacing glass and stone cleaning at heights of up to 60 metres.

Now owned by Tishman Speyer, it is made up of a 14-story, 56,700-square-foot office tower, a seven-story, 3,800-square-foot residential building and around 8,000 square feet of commercial space. It was designed to be, and was the home of the Economist Magazine for 52 years, until they moved out last year. They cited, upon leaving, that “The modern, global version of The Economist was created in the tower, and has been shaped by it”.

The complex is now being remodelled to add approximately 24,000 square feet of office space, a 4,500 square foot art gallery, 1,500 square feet of restaurant space as well as four one bedroom residential units.
