Brogan Group is recognising World Cancer Day, observed annually on 4th February, the day raises awareness of cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of people-centred care.
The 2025–2027 theme, United by Unique, recognises that every experience with cancer is different and highlights the need to focus on the individual, not just the disease. By working together, organisations and communities can help create systems that focus not only on treatment, but also on providing compassion, and support.
Cancer remains the second-leading cause of death worldwide, but many cases are preventable. Over 40% of cancer-related deaths are linked to modifiable risk factors, and early detection with screening saving lives.
As part of Brogan Group’s ongoing commitment to employee health, safety, and wellbeing, the company actively supports cancer prevention and awareness initiatives throughout the year, including participation in events such as Wear it Pink Day and hosting on-site Cancer Awareness talks. We encourage everyone to be aware of potential warning signs – such as unusual lumps, changes in moles or bowel habits, a persistent cough, unexplained weight loss or fatigue, and sores that do not heal and to seek medical advice where concerns arise.
Making positive lifestyle choices, including maintaining a healthy weight, staying active, improving diet, and reducing alcohol intake, can significantly reduce cancer risk.
