Brogan Group, Construction Access Specialists, based in Welwyn Garden City, is celebrating after landing two internationally recognised safety awards for demonstrating high health and safety standards. We have received the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Awards for both the Health and Safety and Fleet Safety standards for 2020.

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards. This assessment examined our health and safety practices throughout the whole of 2020.

For the Fleet Safety award, Brogan were assessed on many topics including road safety leadership, driver risk assessments and monitoring procedures. For a fleet that delivers heavy access solutions including hoists and mastclimbers, across London and the south-east of the UK, and increasingly into the midlands and north-west, the highest fleet safety standards are essential.

Brogan Group met the general Health and Safety Gold award criteria by demonstrating adherence across multiple categories including workforce engagement, active monitoring and reviewing.

These awards reflect the wider Brogan Group culture of safety, which is a prerequisite for Construction and particularly Access solutions, where working from height, with both powered access and traditional scaffolding, is core to the business. This approach extends to clients, where Brogan Group works in close collaboration on-site to develop and implement improvements and awareness across each project.

James Lewis, Group HSQE Director for Brogan Group commented:

“We at Brogan Group are proud to have achieved these Gold Awards from RoSPA. These awards are testament to the wider practices and policies we adhere to across the business in managing the risks to our staff, our clients and other contractors on site and the wider members of the public.”

Julia Small, RoSPA Achievements Director, said:

“The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations across the globe, making it one of the most sought-after achievement awards for health and safety worldwide.”

“RoSPA is very proud of the achievements of its entrants, and with this award we recognise the best of the best, those organisations that have gone the extra mile, raising the bar for the delivery of safety in the workplace. By entering they are driving up standards and setting new safety benchmarks for organisations across the world.”
