For a third consecutive year, Brogan Group Head Office collected and donated essential items to Welwyn Garden City’s only dedicated local food bank.
New Zion Christian Fellowship, an independent church, supports individuals and families most in need across the Welwyn and Hatfield area. Working in partnership with Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield, the food bank has provided vital assistance to more than 2,278 local people over the past 12 months.
Demand for food bank support across the UK remains extremely high, estimated to be approximately 51% higher than five years ago. According to the latest figures from The Trussell Trust, food banks distributed approximately 2.9 million emergency food parcels between April 2024 and March 2025 - equivalent to one parcel every 11 seconds. More than 1 million of those parcels were provided to children.
