Brogan Group have won the access package with a new client for the Lambeth Technical College STEAM Building in South London.

The 10-storey building, situated in Nine Elms will be for students to study science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths and is billed as the UK’s first purpose-built comprehensive technical college for a generation.

Brogan Hoists and Mast Climbers will transport goods and materials up the multi-levelled building, designed by Architecture PLB with a façade of brickwork and curtain walling at lower levels and a distinctive pleated metal cladding on the upper stories that will be installed from Brogan powered Access solutions.

On the east façade, Brogan Mast Climbers will operate from the roof of a two-storey section containing the main entrance and informal learning space, café and workshops for construction skills training.

On the north elevation Twin Light-duty Mast Climbers start from the roof of a higher 4 storey section; a feature of the ‘digital spine,’ design, where a series of double heighted spaces stack above one another, to make up the whole building.

On the west façade, a Passenger / Goods Hoist will be positioned from ground level up to the highest point of the development.

This 10,000sqm building, for the London South Bank Technical College (part of the LSBU Group), is expected to open in 2022/23, providing state of the art infrastructure for the next generation to learn, develop and build successful careers.
