Southmead Hospital

Southmead Hospital, is a brand new hospital in Bristol, North Bristol NHS Trust is working with main contractor Carillion on the £430 million project which will offer patients the very best state-of-the-art hospital facilities.

Traditional wards will be replaced by single rooms with en-suite facilities and single-sex four bed wards.  The state of the art emergency department will have its own entrance, greatly improving access for ambulance.  There will also be a helipad with a link straight into the department.

The 800-bed hospital is scheduled to open in 2014 and will have more single rooms than any other NHS hospital in the country, helping to control the spread of infections and greatly improving privacy and dignity.

Our remit on the project includes the hire, supply, erection and dismantle of mast climbers which will be tied in through window openings and positioned externally for cladding and glazing installation.

Upon completion the hospital will be one of the most environmentally-friendly buildings in the country and be bright and airy with outside views.
