We have secured the hoist package for a substantial mixed residential and commercial development in West Croydon. St Michael’s Courtyard is a large and comprehensive regeneration project to create a public square, shops, cafes and 232 new homes – with 55% set to be designated as affordable.

With an overall development value of £90 million, the project will form a major part of the West Croydon Masterplan and create a new gateway to Croydon Town Centre.

We are providing hoist access for the construction of two brick towers of 82m and 70m with 21 and 25 storeys respectively, which form the residential element of the development. Machines used for the access scheme include 20/32 hoists serving up to 23 landings along with Goods Only hoists to serve lower levels during construction. The access design incorporates 2m extended bridges at Mezzanine and L1 levels for both towers as the building steps back at low level.

The developer of the sizable project is experienced in delivering projects with a mix of affordable homes for private sale, community facilities and commercial space.  The 947 m sq. of commercial space will boast retail and offices at street level and a new piazza opening up views to the listed St Michael and All Angels Church. Pedestrian links will also be created to the station and new shopping centre.
