This month is CIF Safety Month, an Irish nationwide awareness campaign aimed at promoting positive safety and health amongst Ireland’s 159,000+ construction workers, clients and industry stakeholders.

As leading Access specialists Brogan Group have been leading talks and demonstrations on sites across Ireland on the topics around Safe Working at Height.

This has included Adamstown, 16km south of Dublin, where Brogan were invited by the main Contractor, Elliot Group, to deliver a demonstration to all the Contractors on-site.

A 3m high Scaffolding structure was specially built by the Brogan Scaffolders on-site, to demonstrate the dangers of falling objects from height.

The ‘Stop the drop’ demonstration saw objects dropped from the Scaffolding platform through a pipe onto Melons, with and without protective hard hats, visualising the dangers of not wearing the correct headwear on site.

The annual event, run by the Irish construction industry's representative body, has moved from a week to a month-long this year to reflect the many different aspects of Safety in Construction.
