Brogan Group Ireland have been leading health and safety talks and demonstrations across multiple Irish sites, in support of the Construction Industry Federation's (CIF) annual Construction Safety Campaign.
The theme of this year's Irish nationwide safety awareness campaign is Focus on Critical Risk, encouraging contractors to participate by recognising risks and identifying how to reduce them.
In order to visualise the importance of wearing the appropriate PPE whilst on site, Brogan's Irish SHEQ Advisor, Steven McCaul, conducted ‘stop the drop’ demonstrations in which items were dropped through a pipe onto melons and pumpkins both with and without a protective hard hat.
The Project HSE Lead from the main contractor onsite thanked Steven and commented:
