Brogan Group are providing two 40m bridged DESSA beams on Fulham Gas works for the restoration and repurposing of a grade II listed gas holder that dates back to 1830. The gas holder is considered to be the oldest surviving gas holder in the world. It consists of a single lift wrought iron holder, with cast iron guide standards in tripod form and wrought iron framework. The tank itself is approximately 30m wide and 10m deep.
To restore the gas holder, all water needs to be removed by lowering machinery into the tank, without walking on the tank roof. The 40m beams we are supplying will reach across the entire tank, enabling operatives to work above the tank to restore it safely and effectively. The DESSA beam bridges have been specifically made for this project and were lifted into place via crane.
