Work is coming to an end for Brogan Group on the River House, a 249-bedroom hotel and retail development in Dublin involving a complex scaffold project from Brogan, executed to an exceptional standard by our hard-working team in Ireland.

The Brogan remit on this development, where we started in Q2 of 2019, included a full perimeter scaffold, gantry and internal scaffolds. The gantry was based out over the walkway on Greek Street, supporting the scaffold above this on the front elevation.

The 8-storey hotel superstructure, close to the banks of the River Liffey in central Dublin, was built before the basement construction to accommodate an archaeological dig taking place beneath. Due to this work in the basement, the lift shaft scaffolds could not be supported from the ground.

Our design and site teams worked together to come up with a solution involving steel beams fixed in place on the 1st floor which supported the lift shaft scaffolds.

The project experienced some significant delays with covid-related shutdowns, the longest of which lasting 4 months from January to May this year. However, the end is in sight with 95% of scaffold struck on-site.
